In the last couple of years, EMW's range of CD production, mainly
featuring Nepali artistes, has steadily increased. Since 1998, EMW
has organised instrumental concerts, to promote and encourage Nepali
performing artistes, these include, "Live with the Didgeridoo"
in October 1998, "Monsoon" in December 1998, "Heart
Sutra" in October 1999, "Winds of Devotion" in November
1999 and "Mahayantra in Concert" in July 2000.
Besides
the concert to promote Nepali artists, EMW has also produced a show
on Radio HBC 94 FM titled "East Meets West". In this show
a local artist or some foreign artist are invited to the show to
talk about music and many more subjects, with obviously the taste
of both native and foreign music. This show is unlike any other
show in a sense that it really combines the east and the west with
music. For more information on the radio program please click on

The
creator of EAST MEETS WEST (EMW) Mr. Mangal Krishna Maharjan, is,
in fact, an artist himself, having worked in the field of arts and
crafts for over 20 years. He started his career with a bookshop,
moved on to handicrafts (he still owns a handicraft setup) and now
focuses on his music shop. Mangal dedicates a great deal of energy
and commitment to music, tirelessly organising musical shows and
events. His ideology of music truly is "East Meets West,"
and his collections always incorporates the best of both worlds.
